Fr. Mottet called Sr. Concetta “an excellent social worker.” Multi-problem families drove him nuts, but Sr. Concetta took them apart one problem at a time and kept working on them. She wanted administration to be simple. She organized Project Renewal with short description she passed out. Concetta’s key idea was “presence.” She insisted that her nuns live like the people in the neighborhood. What came in the front door had to go out the back door. She told them they were the next-door neighbors–not outsiders doing social work.
